At the end of the quarter, we will have a small Heiva i Anthem (dance performance) for your little Tahitian dancer to show what they’ve learned. There is a costume fee of $50 which will consist of a pāreu (sarong), top, custom hip band, headpiece, and necklace. More information will be sent via email once your child is signed up for the class.
What is 'Ori Tahiti?
‘Ori Tahiti is most recognized by fast-shaking hips and powerful movements to the beat of drums also known as ʻōteʻa. Extravagant headdresses or flower crowns and woven hip bands are often worn while performing to showcase the beauty of Tahitian culture and accentuate hip movement.
